Last week I kicked off with my first harvest of my winter crops and this share will be one of the last harvests from a very late summer crop.
Eggplant!! This is the very last bush I have, it’s in a north facing bed getting the most sun it can in winter. I have read a few other blogs from Aussie gardeners who were also picking late eggplants. This photo shows the last harvest and the bush before I composted it.
What has been your pick of the week? Share it in the comments below with me and also with my fellow garden blogger muddy boots and fingernails who came up with this great idea to share our picks with each other.
Look forward to seeing yours!
What do you do with your eggplant? I put one in and hoping!

1 plant should be enough for me but when you plant so many seeds it’s hard to only plant one isn’t it! Moussaka, fried in a light flour batter, char-grilled then preserved in oil and give them away.

Mmmmmmm, all those options sound yummy! Thanks!

It’s wonderful to see the eggplant 🙂 I’ve never been very good with growing veggies, and I’m finding the timing question a bit confusing in this climate! So far this year my harvest has been limited to a few cluster tomatoes. I’d love to have some good eggplant…!

I can imagine Amy, I am looking forward to reading about your seasons. Eggplant & tomatoes go together in my garden and in the extreme heat which you would know about, I have shade cloth covers which saves everything.
